FAQ

What is InHabit.Life Counselling Centre?

InHabit.life is a counselling centre that specializes in supporting midlife transitions. We offer personalized therapy to help individuals, couples, and families navigate this pivotal stage with clarity and confidence. Our services are accessible online, providing flexible options to fit your life. With InHabit.life, you can connect with a licensed therapist when and how it’s most convenient for you.

Who will be helping me?

After you sign up, we will match you with a therapist who best aligns with your goals, preferences, and the specific challenges you’re facing. Our therapists take a customized approach to ensure that you receive the support you need. If you feel that your therapist isn’t the right fit, you can request to be matched with someone else at any time.

Who are the therapists?

Our therapists are licensed professionals with extensive experience in midlife issues. Each therapist holds qualifications in their respective fields, such as Licensed Clinical Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, or Social Workers, and meets the rigorous licensing standards of their governing bodies. They have the training and expertise to help you manage life changes like career shifts, relationship dynamics, aging, and family transitions.

How are the therapists verified?

We ensure that all therapists at InHabit.Life are licensed and in good standing with their professional boards. Each therapist must provide proof of their qualifications, which we verify through cross-checks with their licensing boards. Our therapists also undergo background checks to ensure you receive care from trusted professionals.

Do you use HIPAA-compliant software for sessions?

Yes, we use the Jane app, which is the most HIPAA-compliant software available to manage all sessions and client information. Your privacy and confidentiality are protected with the highest standards, ensuring that all your interactions with us are secure and safe.

Is InHabit.Life right for me?

InHabit.Life may be a great fit if you’re experiencing transitions in midlife, seeking greater fulfillment, or facing challenges in your personal or professional life. Our therapists specialize in issues such as stress, anxiety, relationships, parenting, grief, career transitions, aging, and more. However, if you are in a crisis or require court-ordered therapy, we recommend seeking immediate or specialized support.

How much does it cost?

We offer a range of pricing options depending on the type of therapy and session length. Many of our services are covered by extended health benefits, and we offer direct billing with many major insurers. You can focus on your well-being without worrying about paperwork.

Can InHabit.Life substitute for traditional face-to-face therapy?

Online therapy can be very effective, but some cases may benefit more from in-person sessions. Our licensed therapists will help you find the best solution and may recommend in-person support if it’s in your best interest.

How will I communicate with my therapist?

You will communicate with your therapist via the Jane.App.

How do live video or phone sessions work?

To have a live session with your therapist, simply schedule a time and log into your account. For video sessions, you’ll meet face-to-face virtually, similar to platforms like Zoom or FaceTime. For phone sessions, you’ll receive a call at the scheduled time to speak with your therapist.

How does messaging work?

Once matched, you can send messages to your therapist anytime, sharing your thoughts, concerns, or questions. Your therapist will review and respond with guidance, insights, and support. Since messaging isn’t in real time, you can write when it’s convenient for you, and you’ll be notified when your therapist replies.

How long can I use InHabit.Life services?

You can use our services for as long as you feel is beneficial. Some people find what they need in just a few sessions, while others prefer ongoing support for longer periods. It’s entirely up to you and your individual needs.

Is InHabit.Life accessible for users with disabilities?

We strive to ensure our platform is accessible to all users, in line with the most recent Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). If you require specific accommodations or have questions about accessibility, please let us know.

Will my therapy be confidential?

Yes, all our therapists adhere to strict confidentiality laws and ethics. Your personal information and session content are protected unless required by law to disclose (e.g., in cases of danger to yourself or others). Please discuss confidentiality with your therapist if you have any concerns.

How is my privacy and security protected?

We prioritize your privacy and have state-of-the-art systems in place to protect your data. All communication between you and your therapist is encrypted, and we follow best practices for security to ensure your personal information is safe.

Can I stay anonymous?

When signing up, you can create a nickname to protect your identity. Your therapist will only have access to the personal information required for legal and therapeutic reasons, and all data is protected by confidentiality laws.
