Ireland’s Kerry Way is one of the country’s most celebrated walking routes—and it earns that reputation.
This 8-day self-guided journey traces a loop through County Kerry, following a path around the Ring of Kerry that moves through mountains, lakes, rugged coastline, and some of Ireland’s most character-filled villages. The terrain shifts day to day—mountain passes, forest trails, coastal paths—creating a varied and engaging walking experience without requiring technical hiking.
You begin in Killarney, a vibrant gateway to the region. From there, the route leads you into the quiet intensity of the Black Valley, through the green expanses of Glencar, and onward to the Atlantic edge near Glenbeigh.
Along the way, you’ll pass through Cahersiveen, known for its rich history, and follow the coastline near Waterville and Caherdaniel, where the landscape opens wide to the Atlantic. The route continues through Sneem and into Kenmare, where colourful streets, local food, and a strong sense of community offer a natural pause before the trail brings you back to Killarney.
With accommodations arranged, luggage transferred, and detailed route guidance provided, you’re free to focus on the walk itself and take it at your own pace.
